RTI Act 2005 — for CPIOs & Appellate Authorities
The Right to Information Act, 2005 is landmark legislation empowering citizens and promoting transparency and accountability. This 3-day programme is designed for Transparency Officers, Nodal Officers, PIOs/APIOs, CPIOs and First Appellate Authorities — strategies for implementation, case studies and superior-court judgements.
Objectives
Programme Objectives
- Clarify the roles and responsibilities of CPIOs and First Appellate Authorities (FAAs).
- Analyse case studies and FAA decisions to identify areas of improvement.
- Examine landmark Supreme Court and High Court judgements on RTI appeals.
- Provide practical insight into CIC/SIC decisions and guidelines.
- Strengthen proactive disclosure under Section 4 of the RTI Act.
- Prepare public authorities for transparency audits and compliance reporting.
